Hometown: Born in Mexico City, but moved to El Barrio at age 3. You can still catch me on the streets of Spanish Harlem today.

What do you love about boxing? How did you get into training? What are you fighting for?
Growing up I played a plethora of sports ranging from hockey to football to soccer, but there is no sport like boxing. I was the first person in my family to start boxing. Boxing is a beautiful sport. Over the years I realized that boxing is like life. Every step and every punch has a purpose. If you ask me what I am fighting for, I would tell you that I am fighting to be a better person both inside and outside the ring.

Describe your style of teaching.
While teaching a group class or a private personal training session, I always like to focus on the basics. I like when people make mistakes, because that’s what I am there for. I always want people to leave my class knowing that they learned something new. I enjoyed seeing them improve their boxing skills. I am there to help everyone whether it is for personal fitness reasons or because they want to compete.

Favorite type of music to play during class?
During my classes I like to mix old school rap with new school rap. On a really special day you might even hear some Corridos or Banda.

Career Achievements/Titles:
I had a few amateur fights including a bout in the 2012 New York Golden Gloves.
