What do you love about boxing?
This sport will forever occupy every inch of my heart – and there’s so much I adore about it. I love that any person, at any age in any sort of physical condition can take part in this beautiful, wild sport of ours. The language of poetry and chaos is one anyone can learn to speak, if they choose to. I love that you don’t need to do it for years to feel like you’re making progress. I love that slipping on the gloves can provide a range of beautiful things – from self-confidence, focus and inner peace to, simply put, a bloody good workout.

How did you get into training?
Honestly, I don’t really consider myself a ‘trainer,’ per say. I’m just a bloke who owes a debt to boxing, has loved throwing punches for over a decade and is happy to pass on a few of the tricks of the trade. I’ve hung around Overthrow for almost 5 years now, and I couldn’t be happier to have the chance to train members of our unique community.

Describe your style of teaching?
A high-octane, encouragement-filled fiesta of endorphin excretion. With banging tunes. Favorite type of music to play during class? Grime. That, American friends, is UK rap. What are you fighting for? Any small sense of inner peace. Either that, or the excuse to have a burger without feeling guilty.
